Open Courseware

The freely accessible Science Gallery Bengaluru Courseware brings together resources from our exhibition-seasons to facilitate non-evaluative, open-ended, and interdisciplinary learning. The courseware reflects our commitment to public education, and expands the existing knowledge commons.

In the last four years, we have curated exhibitions that open up different themes through interactive, collaborative, and experimental exhibits and programmes. Bringing together research, lived experience, media, and participatory activities, each exhibition-season has the potential to become a robust learning resource. Our courseware distils the exhibition material into small modules which can be used by teachers and individual learners alike.

Going beyond seminars and multiple choice questions, our courses also consist of films, field exercises, reflective questions, and reading resources that develop critical thinking skills.

Who is the SGB Open Courseware meant for?

The SGB Courseware is completely free and consists of publicly available content from our exhibitions and programmes.

True to the Science Gallery way, our courses do not align with a single discipline, but rather examine a particular topic through an interdisciplinary lens. This also ensures that subject-specific knowledge is not a prerequisite to entering any of our modules. On the other hand, even if you are a subject expert, the modules reexamine existing knowledge to present it in different, previously unencountered ways.
